I’ve been working on my running speed recently, as I know I’m capable of some reasonable speeds but when I’m out running on my own I seem to sit on a comfortable 8 minute mile pace.
Using the treadmill (as boring as it can be) has helped me already to get used to running at faster speeds and I’ve noticed the change when I’m running outdoors.
This morning I got wrapped up and went out for a 5km run in the snow and wind. I felt pretty strong all of the way round. Next time I’ll work out the 1km markers so I can judge my pace. I’d love to have a GPS watch but I’ve just bought a tri suit and some winter gear and I’ve got to get a wet suit soon it will have to wait.
